In late 2012, I created a series of typefaces inspired by the aesthetics of Poland, circa 1908 to 1939. My initial goal was highlight the style of the Młoda Polska movement, but I later expanded the project to include Art Deco styles of the 20’s and 30’s. Here are the typefaces in their final form. During his brief stays in Warsaw and Kraków, American artist Brendan Ciecko came across interwar Polish typography – and that led him to discover the elegance and beauty of pre-WWII Poland. We can hardly wait for him to make these typefaces available to us.
